Help from the stockroom

A little help?Dorc’s all ears.

Getting started, puzzling product links and notifications that haven’t made a peep. Let’s work it out.

Getting started

How do I add my first product?

Create a free account, verify your email, then paste the exact product URL into the app. Check the preview, select Email me when it returns if you want emails, and choose Add to my watchlist. Start with a product page, rather than a shop homepage or search results.

See the full walkthrough.

Can I use Restokk on an iPhone?

Yes. Sign up and manage your watchlist in your iPhone’s browser, and choose email alerts when adding products. There’s nothing to install for email alerts. iPhone app support is coming soon. No release date has been announced.

Follow the iPhone email walkthrough.

How do I install Restokk on Android?

Open Restokk in Chrome on your Android phone and sign in. Use the app’s Install app button, or open Chrome’s ⋮ menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. Restokk installs directly from the browser.

Then open Alert settings, enable push alerts and send a test alert. Follow the Android setup guide.

Do I need to keep the app or browser open?

No. Product checks run on our server. You can close the app or browser without stopping them. You need an internet connection to load your watchlist and receive notifications. Your Android and email-app settings can affect when you see an alert.

Products & shops

Will it work with my shop?

Restokk reads public stock information from product pages. Some shops hide availability, require an interactive browser or block automated checks. We respect shop restrictions and can’t promise support for every website.

Add the exact product URL and check the preview and any notes. If availability can’t be confirmed, Restokk shows an unknown status or a checking note. An unknown result is not treated as in stock.

See our dated shop checks and their limits.

Can I watch a particular size or colour?

Use a separate product URL for the exact size or colour if the shop provides one. Some shops put all variants at one URL or publish only a general stock status. In that case, Restokk may not be able to distinguish the variant you want. Check the preview and the shop before relying on a variant alert.

How often does Dorc check stock?

We aim for about every 15 minutes. Busy queues, slow websites and shop restrictions can delay checks. Your watchlist shows when each product was last checked. Stock can appear and disappear between checks, so alerts can’t guarantee you’ll catch every restock.

What does unknown stock or a failed check mean?

It means we couldn’t confirm the product’s availability on that check. The shop may have changed its page, blocked access or supplied unclear stock details. Read the note on the watch and check the product directly at the shop. A failed check won’t create a restock alert by itself.

Why didn’t I get an alert for a product that is already in stock?

A restock alert needs a confirmed change from out of stock to in stock. Adding an already available product doesn’t send an immediate alert. Restokk can watch it for a future sell-out and return.

What is the difference between pausing and removing a product?

Pausing stops further checks and keeps the product and its saved alerts. It still uses a watchlist slot. Resume it when you want checks to start again.

Removing a product deletes the watch and its related alerts, and frees a slot. You can add the product again later. An alert already being delivered may still arrive.

Alerts & notifications

How do I turn on email alerts?

Select Email me when it returns in the product preview before adding it to your watchlist. Emails go to your verified account address. The product shows an Email label when enabled.

There isn’t an email toggle for an existing watch yet. To change its email choice, remove the product and add it again with the option you want. Removing a watch also deletes its saved alerts.

My restock email hasn’t arrived. What should I check?

Check spam or junk and make sure you’re looking at the inbox for your Restokk account. Look for the Email label on the saved product, check its latest status and read any checking note.

Open your in-app alert inbox to see whether a restock was detected. Email may be delayed, and adding a product that is already in stock doesn’t trigger a restock email. If an alert is saved but the email is still missing, contact [email protected] with the product link and approximate alert time.

My Android notifications aren’t arriving. What can I try?

In Restokk’s Alert settings, enable push alerts and choose Send test alert. Check that Chrome and Android allow notifications for Restokk. Make sure your phone is online, and check Do Not Disturb and battery restrictions. Reopen Chrome if you force-stopped it.

Enable push on each Android device where you want alerts. If you previously denied permission, change the site’s notification setting in Chrome before trying again. A test accepted by the push service is not confirmation that your phone displayed it.

Why is the product sold out again when I open an alert?

A small restock can sell out quickly. Availability may change between our check, delivery of the alert and your visit to the shop. Restokk reports the restock it detected; it doesn’t reserve a product or guarantee a purchase. Always check the shop’s current stock and price.

Read why this happens and what to check next.

How do I stop alerts?

Pause or remove a watch to stop further checks for that product. To stop Android push on this device, open Alert settings and choose Turn off on this device. You can also revoke notification permission in your browser settings.

To keep watching a product without emails, remove it and add it again with the email option unchecked. Removing it deletes that watch’s saved alerts. An alert already being sent may still arrive.

Does Restokk buy or reserve products for me?

No. You follow the alert to the retailer and decide whether to buy. Restokk doesn’t place orders, reserve stock or need your shop login or payment details.

Account & plans

What does my one free product include?

Your free account can save one product link, with email and Android alerts. A paused watch still uses that slot. Each shop or variant link is a separate product, so choose the link you want to watch and remove it before adding something else.

See the free plan and planned Plus upgrade.

Can I upgrade to Restokk Plus?

Paid upgrades aren’t open yet. Restokk Plus is planned at £4.99 a month for unlimited products. All current accounts use the free plan with a one-product limit. No card is needed to start.

My verification link or code has expired. What now?

Verification links and codes expire after 30 minutes. Return to the verification screen and request a new email. Use the latest email: resending invalidates the previous link and code. Check spam or junk if it doesn’t arrive.

I’ve forgotten my password.

Choose Forgot password on the sign-in page and enter your account email. Use the link in the latest reset email within 30 minutes to set a new password. Resetting your password signs out other sessions and removes push subscriptions, so enable push again on the devices you use.

Reset your password.

Can other people see my watchlist?

Your watchlist and alert inbox belong to your signed-in account. They aren’t published as public product lists. You can sign in with the same account on another device to access them.
